Jefferson County Foster Care Coalition
The Jefferson County Foster Care Coalition is a network of passionate volunteers and community partners dedicated to supporting families, preventing foster care involvement, and raising awareness about foster care and child abuse prevention.
Serving Jefferson County, Arkansas, and surrounding areas, we work to ensure every child has the opportunity to grow up in a safe, stable, and loving family.
Our mission is threefold:
- Support: We provide resources and assistance to foster families, biological families working toward reunification, and community members in need through initiatives like the Provision Community Care Closet and Community Resource Directory.
- Prevention: By addressing root causes like poverty and instability, we empower families to stay together and avoid foster care involvement.
- Awareness: Through events like Kids Fest and ongoing education, we aim to inform the public about foster care, child abuse prevention, and the importance of family stability.
With a collaborative, flexible, and holistic approach, we partner with other organizations to fill gaps in the system. Together, we work to strengthen families and build a supportive community where children can thrive.
Jefferson County Foster Care Coalition Support Center
The Support Center is a cornerstone of our mission to support families and children. Once renovations are complete, this nearly 8,000 sq. ft. facility will provide vital resources and spaces, including:
- Visitation rooms for families
- Training and event spaces
- Foster Closet with Diaper Bank
- Laundry facilities
- A playground for children
- Offices for collaboration with community partners
This center will be a safe, welcoming space for families to access the support they need to stay together or rebuild after challenges. It will also be accessible 24/7 to the Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS), enhancing their ability to serve the community effectively.
Renovations & Fundraising
